YOU MAKE THE CALL: Marquette's Leading Scorer

Time for a curveball in how we've gone about things in the past.

No, Davante! This is the SCORING poll! Assists will be later!

In years past, we've only had YOU MAKE THE CALL polls for how Marquette would perform as a team. This year, we're going to change that up with three individual player polls.

First up: Who will lead Marquette in scoring this season?

We're going to decide this by scoring average, of course. The first thing to consider is the likely candidates.

Davante Gardner is the leading returning scorer from last season, averaging 11.5 points per game. But we also have to consider Jamil Wilson, who also did most of his scoring off the bench last season while averaging 9.7 points per game.

Other than those two guys, you can have your choice of dark horse candidates. Todd Mayo (5.3 ppg), Chris Otule (5.1 ppg), and Steve Taylor, Jr. (3.0 ppg) are the next three returning scorers from last year's team. JaJuan Johnson and Deonte Burton are the two freshman most likely to get the most minutes, but it's impossible to tell what roles Buzz Williams has in store for them at this point.
