We've asked about scoring, we've asked about rebounding.
Today we ask you this: Who will lead Marquette in assists?
The obvious choice is Derrick Wilson, right? Regardless of Buzz supposedly wavering on who will start other than Chris Otule, Derrick is almost assuredly going to get first crack at running the show for MU. And even if he's not out there for the opening tip tonight for some reason, he's going to play a ton. He had an assist rate of 22.8% last season according to KenPom, just six percentage points short of Junior Cadougan, who was ranked in the top 150 players in the country.
So the skill is there for Derrick Wilson to lead the Golden Eagles in helpers. Is there anyone who can compete with him? Will John Dawson earn time and focus more on passing and just nudge past him? Will Jamil Wilson draw a crowd on defense leading to easy passes for layups? Trent Lockett finished second on the team in total assists last year, so if Juan Anderson manages to fill the role that Lockett played last year, could he make a run at the lead?
Is the answer as easy as Derrick Wilson, or do you see someone else taking the crown? Vote in the poll and leave your thoughts in the comments section below!
