Men's Lacrosse Preview: Marquette (1-2) at Mercer (3-2)

The men's lacrosse Spring Break trip continues this afternoon in Georgia against the Bears.

After a turnover laden contest against Jacksonville on Saturday, men's lacrosse looks to get back to the solid play that earned them a win over Air Force as they take on Mercer this afternoon at 1pm Central. Your best way to keep track of this one is to catch live stats here or follow @MarquetteMLax on Twitter for in game updates.

Conor Gately has the Marquette team lead in points with nine, largely because of his team high seven assists. Bryan Badolato is the leading goal scorer in Marquette history (no, saying things like that doesn't get old) with seven scores on the season. Goalie JJ Sagl is stopping 50% of the shots that he sees and currently has a goals-against average of 13.04.

Mercer is 2-2 against Division 1 opposition this season, but they've won their last two, both one goal wins on the road against Wagner and future Marquette opponent St. Joseph's. It's worth noting that one of the Bears' losses was a one goal loss in overtime to Towson.

Unfortunately for the purposes of statistics, Mercer includes the numbers from their 13-3 win over Division 2 Rollins. Not cool, guys. So, taking that into account, Chris Baxa has the team lead in points with 17. His 13 goals are also a team high, two more than runner up Zack Ward. Harry Baker and Cole Branch are tied for the team lead in assists with five each. This is only a theory, but I think Mercer is just genetically engineering lacrosse players and then using a random lacrosse name generator to assign them names.
