Marquette's women's lacrosse team takes a swing at getting back to .500 on the season against San Diego State tonight at 9pm Central. Odds are you have plans already for that timeframe, but if you can spare a minute, flip over to the free live stream, courtesy of GoAztecs.com. If you're more of a mobile person, you can get in game updates on Twitter from @MarquetteWLax.

Leading scorer Claire Costanza (5G, 10A) is ranked 24th in the country in assists per game. As a team, Marquette is ranked 23rd in the country in ground balls per game. Because I know you're asking, 1) that's recovered ground balls, 2) there's 100 teams listed on the NCAA's website and 3) if nothing else, it shows that head coach Meredith Black has her team hustling after every opportunity to gain possession.

As far as the Aztecs go, they're coming off of a 21-1 shelling of LIU-Brooklyn. 10 different Aztecs scored in that one, including a hat trick off the bench from Alexa Comfort. Sophomore attacker Michaela Jarvis leads SDSU in points with 21, and her 13 assists are tied for 15th most in the country. No other Aztec has more than four assists on the season. Fellow sophomore Bailey Ewing has the team lead in goals with 16 and sits just one point behind Jarvis on the team leaderboard. Ewing is 19th in the country in goals per game with 3.2. Senior goalie Sammy Slattery has played all but one half for SDSU, stopping 41% of the shots she sees while posting a goals-against average of 8.00.

As a team, the Aztecs are 8th in the country in goals per game and 9th in scoring defense per game. So, uh, unless those stats are REALLY skewed by that 21-1 score in there, this one could get interesting fast.
