Houston 88, Philadelphia 80 - Terrence Jones had 24 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Rockets to an opening game win over the 76ers. Michael Carter-Williams led all scorers with 26 points in a losing effort. Vander Blue did not play (coach's decision) for the Rockets.
Orlando 95, Boston 88 - Five Magic players hit for double digits, led by 18 from both Victor Oladipo and Romero Osby. Noted former Marquette opponent Kyle O'Quinn had 11 points and 11 rebounds for the victors as well. Darius Johnson-Odom started for the Celtics and tallied five points on 1-8 shooting along with two assists, and a rebound in 24 minutes of action.
Utah 69, Miami 59 - WOOF. Dionte Christmas came off the bench and racked up a game high 14 points to propel the Jazz to an ugly win, even by 10 minutes quarter standards. Jerel McNeal is listed as "Did Not Dress - Right MCL Sprain," so it seems unlikely that he'll play at all in summer league.
Oklahoma City 76, Indiana 68 - FINALLY some good news for this idea. Dwight Buycks finished with 12 points on 5-10 shooting and, even more impressively, 13 assists to power the Thunder offense. Grant Jerrett led OKC in scoring with 17 points, while Orlando Johnson matched that output for the Pacers.
