Marquette & Steve Wojciechowski: Trending upwards.
Marquette & Steve Wojciechowski: Trending upwards.
USA TODAY Sports

Steve Wojciechowski has been the head coach at Marquette for just over six months.  In that time, he's retained the services of Sandy Cohen, kept Nick Noskowiak verbally committed, and secured commitments from rising center Matt Heldt and Top 75 guard Haanif Cheatham.

But today Wojciechowski's main goal since day one has come to fruition.  WTMJ 4's Lance Allan was the first one with the news, so he gets the credit: Henry Ellenson has verbally committed to play for Marquette beginning in the fall of 2015.

Ellenson is a 6'10" 230lb. forward.  I hesitate to call him a power forward, because as the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Michael Hunt put it:

At almost 6-11, Ellenson handles the ball like a point guard and shoots the three like a two guard. He is freakishly quick defensively. You can't guard him with a big man because he'll take him outside and shoot. A smaller, quicker defender is going to get posted up.

Ellenson is ranked #4 in the country by ESPN, #17 by Rivals, #6 by Scout, and #19 by 247 Sports.  In case you were wondering, his 247 Sports Composite ranking is #10.  According to the freshly updated 247 Sports recruiting class rankings, MU now sits at #4 in the country.

The commitment from the Rice Lake, WI, native leaves Wojciechowski with one unassigned scholarship for the 2015-16 season.  It's still about another month before the fall signing period, so there may be still more good news to come.
