Xavier 64, Butler 50 - Semaj Christon had 15 to lead the Musketeers in a low scoring affair as Xavier finished off the season sweep of Butler.
With 1:15 left in the first half, Butler and Xavier were squaring off, and Xavier led by just four. Over the next nine minutes of game action, the lead would balloon to 24 on a 22-2 Musketeer run that included the first eight points of the second half. That monster stretch assured Xavier that they would enter Saturday's contest against Marquette in sole posession of third place in the Big East, instead of in a tie with the Golden Eagles.
The biggest thing that Xavier did was shut down Kellen Dunham. The sophomore guard was held to a season low two points after missing his first seven shots of the game. Elijah Brown had 14 points to lead the Bulldogs. You can get more about this game from Banners On The Parkway or from Butler Hoops.
