It occurs to me that following Marquette's loss to Providence on Tuesday night, we need to be giving particular attention to the status of all of the #1 seeds in the conference tournaments that will likely only earn one bid to the NCAA tournament. All regular season champions earn a guaranteed slot in the NIT if they do not win their conference tournament. There are only 32 slots in the NIT and potentially 21 #1 seeds that could somehow miss the NCAA tournament. We don't have to worry about the Ivy League, as they do not have a conference tournament and will definitely send their regular season champion.
For today, there is only Florida Gulf Coast in action, and to this point, we haven't lost any #1 seeds. But it bears watching as we continue. As has been the case all week so far, all of these games will be streamed somewhere. The only exception is in the Missouri Valley, where you can't stream the games if you live in a state that has a MVC school in it. You can click the link on the MVC line to see where the games are on TV in your area. As always, all times listed are Central.
