This Will Be The Only Coaching Search Update For Today

If there's an official announcement from Marquette, then we'll update. But that's the only reason.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

I'm just going to come right out and say it.

I hate April Fool's Day.

I mean, I guess maybe 15 years ago, it was okay. The occasional spring loaded "snake in a can," you know, silly, juvenile goofs, but ultimately harmless.

But now we're in the 21st Century, when it's much easier to construct an hoax that seems vaguely realistic. Fake news, fake updates, every one with a PR department thinks they're hilarious. It's all terrible.

So every April 1st, I check out from the internet. There's nothing on Twitter or Facebook or whatever that NEEDS doing, so it's a skip day for me. On top of that, Marquette fans have already gone through an April Fool's Day this offseason, and I really don't feel like revisiting any of that.

So this is a notification for everyone: There will be no further updates on the coaching search on this site for the next 24 hours. If @muathletics or @MarquetteMBB tweets that there's been a hire, we're still going to wait for something to show up on GoMarquette.com. There will be a preview of tonight's men's lacrosse game against Bellarmine, which will start at 5pm at Hart Park in Wauwatosa.

There will also be no tweets from @AnonymousEagle before the lacrosse game starts, other than the one that auto-publishes along with the lacrosse preview.

I trust everyone understands, and we'll see you on Wednesday.
