Back on Monday, I wrote up a small request of Marquette's men's basketball players for this summer. It was a simple idea: The last two seasons were the two worst three point shooting seasons in the last 13 seasons, so could we try to fix that for next year with lots of practice?
I specifically pointed out that new assistant coach Brett Nelson was a heck of a shooter in his time at Florida, and implored that the current players take advantage of the knowledge that Nelson could impart on them.
It appears that Nelson is way ahead of me.
Yesterday, redshirt freshman guard Duane Wilson shared this on Twitter:
Our new shooting cards. S/o to @Coachbnelson for making us these. pic.twitter.com/MBKkM8lV4z

That's a lot of shooting practice! It's unclear how often that Coach Nelson wants the team to be working their way through everything on the card, but I'm going to guess that it's more often than not, if not actually every day.
We've got the "work on shooting" thing taken care of, so now it's just a matter of taking advantage of all of that work in game situations.
