2014-15 Non-Conference Schedule News Keeps Rolling In

It's that time of the year, after all.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Right around the first week of July or so, Marquette usually comes up with some kind of fancy way to announce the non-conference end of the men's basketball schedule.  With that being the case, it makes sense that in the first week of June, things are are pretty much set to go, especially games that we already know are on the schedule for this coming season.

That was proven last night, when the Blue and Gold Fund announced that their yearly auction would be moving from its traditional September slot to Friday, December 5.  There's various reasons for this, of course, but the most important one for our purposes here is that this moves the auction to the night before Marquette hosts Wisconsin at the Bradley Center on December 6th.  No word on what time that game will start at yet, but it's still nice to be able to mark the calendar for the start of Badger Hate Week six months ahead of time.

The news kept on coming this morning when CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein tipped us off that the return match of The Bradleyville Horror will take place when Marquette visits Ohio State on Tuesday, November 18.  This will be just the closing of the home and home series between the two schools that was jumpstarted by the cancellation of the Carrier Classic.  It is not the first Gavitt Tipoff Games contest for Marquette, as that series will not start until the fall of 2015.

We can add those two dates to the already announced and freshly renamed Orlando Classic, which will take place on November 27, 28, and 30 at the Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World.
