Through the first weekend of college volleyball action, Marquette redshirt junior Courtney Kintzel is tied for the best hitting percentage in the Big East.  She hit .500 on 32 attacks while committing just one error in MU's three matches as part of the Rams Volleyball Classic.  Kintzel also led Marquette in kills against #18 Colorado State, totalling eight while hitting .571 against the Rams.

For all of that, plus her six blocks in MU's nine sets, Kintzel was named to the Big East Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.  It's the first Big East honors for her, as she transferred to Marquette after playing two season in three years at Northern Iowa.

Kintzel was one of five players named to the Honor Roll this week.  Karin Palgutova from St. John's was named the Player of the Week for her average of 4.0 kills and 2.78 digs per set as the Red Storm got off to a 3-0 start.  DePaul's Rachel Breault was named Freshman of the Week after averaging 1.73 kills and 1.36 digs while the Blue Demons went 1-2 in their own invitational tournament.
