GAME NOTES:
- This will be the first appearance in an official uniform for six Golden Eagles: Sacar Anim, Traci Carter, Haanif Cheatham, Henry Ellenson, Wally Ellenson, and Matt Heldt. All except for Wally Ellenson are freshmen, while Wally sat out last season as a transfer from Minnesota. Andrew Rowsey will be on the bench, but is sitting this season out as a transfer from UNC-Asheville.
- Valley City State is an NAIA Division 2 team. That would essentially be two steps down from NCAA Division 3, which is where Wisconsin Lutheran plays. You might remember Wisconsin Lutheran from such exhibition games as last year when Marquette won by a score of 115-47.
- Valley City State might be a good NAIA Division 2 team. On Friday, they won an overtime thriller against a team that was receiving votes in the NAIA Division 2 Coaches' Top 25, and on Saturday, they knocked off the #13 ranked team.
- Darryl Howell is the VCSU leading scorer at 18 points a game, and he's also the team's most dangerous three point threat, making 39% of his 13 attempts this season. Nygel Drury is the leading rebounder at just short of seven boards a game. Four players are averaging more than two assists a game, led by Justyn Galloway at 3.8/game.
