SPASH Brothers

I attended tonight's game between SPASH and Marshfield to watch the Hauser brothers. Both Sam and Joey absolutely dominated the glass throughout the entire game. They each had bright spots on the offensive end, but Joey seemed to get any shot he wanted and was very aggressive all night driving to the hoop. He even showed the ability to play above the rim with a two handed slam in the first half. He didn't take many shots from outside, but finished with 22 points and 14 rebounds.

Sam got off to a quick start hitting a turnaround jumper from midrange for the first points of the game. He got a few buckets early, but was fairly quiet the rest of the first half after he picked up two fouls. He played in the post for a majority of the game (which most likely won't be his role at MU), but had a good offensive second half which included hitting two shots from deep. His midrange game is very smooth and he looks comfortable taking a shot from just about anywhere. Sam I would imagine had to also be close if not in double digits in rebounds as well and finished with 14 points. He also made quite a few SMART extra passes to teammates, rather than forcing something.

Both can score in a variety of ways and were very aggressive on the glass. Marquette is getting an excellent shooter and smart passer in Sam, and Joey would be a nice addition in many ways as well. SPASH won in convincing fashion 79-50 and improved to 4-0 on the season.
