Your Saturday College Basketball Open Thread: 12/19/15

Well, finals week is over across the Big East, and based on the looks of things on today's national college basketball schedule, it appears to be over in a lot of places.

There's an explosion of great games to watch today, headlined by #11 North Carolina taking on #22 UCLA in the CBS Sports Classic, #12 Villanova going on the road to tackle #8 Virginia, #17 Butler squaring off with #9 Purdue in the Crossroads Classic, and #16 Baylor tripping 90 miles southeast to see in-state rival #24 Texas A&M.

On top of those games, there's 10 more games with only one ranked team involved.  The most entertaining one of the bunch is #1 Michigan State visiting Northeastern.  Yes, 2015 CAA tournament champion Northeastern and their five thousand seat arena.  You can read this Boston Globe article for more on the explanation, but the MBB game is part of a whole weekend of MSU/NU games.  This just reinforces my opinion that if Tom Izzo would play the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls at the United Center if he could just get his hands on a time machine.
