On Tuesday afternoon, Marquette University President Dr. Michael Lovell got to break some news on Twitter:

I'm amused that Wojo showed up to his contract signing in a white T-shirt.

It's been almost 21 months since Steve Wojciechowski signed his first contract at Marquette, which ran through the 2019-20 season.  Since then, he's recruited and signed four top 100 recruits according to 247 Sports, in addition to compiling a top 10 recruiting class for the fall of 2015 in his very first shot out of the gate.  While the 2014-15 season was largely a disappointment on multiple levels, it's clear that the future of Marquette basketball is very bright under the direction of Wojciechowski.

Comments on the extension from Athletic Director Bill Scholl:

"We are thrilled with the direction the program is heading under Steve's leadership," Scholl said. "This extension not only illustrates our commitment to what Steve and his staff are building at Marquette, but also his commitment to the University."

And from Wojo himself:

"I am extremely grateful for the support the University provides our program on a daily basis," Wojciechowski said. "It's a team effort, on and off the court, and the belief in what we are building is tremendous and will play a key role in keeping Marquette among the elite programs in the country."

Since Marquette is a private institution, financial details of the contract will not be disclosed.
