In what qualifies as a not-totally-surprising development, Marquette announced a few minutes ago that Sun Prairie point guard Nick Noskowiak won't be attending MU in the fall and has been released from his National Letter of Intent:

We won't belabor the issues that have swirled around Noskowiak and his family recently -- there's more here, if you're not up to speed on the strange and, frankly, all-too-public stuff that's happened in the last couple months -- and there's no use crying over spilled milk, so let's just repeat the refrain we've sung since the beginning of this saga: all the best to Nick and his family, and here's hoping the young man finds a spot that's a good fit for him.
Noskowiak's exit does leave MU in something of a bind for next season, at least in terms of available bodies: with Deonte Burton and John Dawson transferring at midseason, and Juan Anderson, Derrick Wilson, and Matt Carlino set to exhaust their eligibility, plus the two open scholarships left over from 2013-'14, Marquette now has four open slots for 2015-'16. That's, uh, a lot.
If you know anybody with a decent handle who can run some point, send us a note, OK?
