10 days ago, Marquette basketball fans were slightly worried when Nick Noskowiak's release was announced, leaving the Golden Eagles with four available scholarships for the fall of 2015.  That concern was mitigated slightly on Monday afternoon when Sacar Anim made his verbal commitment to play for Steve Wojciechowski next fall.

Anim is a 6'4", 185 lb. small forward from Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he attends DeLaSalle High School.  He's rated as a 3 star prospect by 247 Sports, who have him as #180 overall in their Composite rankings.  It may not sound that impressive, but they also list him as the third best prospect in the state of Minnesota behind Wisconsin signee Alex Illikainen and Anim's own teammate, Jarvis Johnson, who has signed to play for Minnesota.  Anim is listed as a 3 star recruit by both Scout and Rivals, but gets a fourth star from ESPN, who also lists him ahead of Johnson on their list of Minnesota prospects.

Anim joins Henry Ellenson, Haanif Cheatham, and Matt Heldt in head coach Steve Wojciechowski's first recruiting class.  The class is ranked #8 in the country by 247 Sports.  Wojciechowski still has three available scholarships for next fall.

Be sure to check out the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article on Anim's commitment, which includes commentary from DeLaSalle head coach Dave Thorson about Anim.
