Following Sunday afternoon's 11-10 overtime win over Richmond, Marquette men's lacrosse earned a little bit more national attention and respect.  On Monday, Inside Lacrosse released the newest update to their Top 20 media poll, and the Golden Eagles come in ranked #16 in the country, one spot higher than they were a week ago.

MU finished just 7 points behind #15 Loyola (2-2), but they were 28 points ahead of #17 Towson (2-1).  Lehigh, Marquette's first victim of the season, remains in the top 20 at #20.  There are three future MU opponents in the newest poll, and all three are in the top 6.  Preseason #1 and Big East favorite Denver keeps their top spot, while Notre Dame sits at #2 and Duke falls one spot from last week to #6.

Marquette is off to a program best start of 3-0 this season, and they'll be back in action on Friday evening when they play Detroit as part of a 4 team event at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky.  Marquette will also play Ohio State next weekend, and the Buckeyes fell into the "others receiving votes" category in this edition of the poll.
