Last season, head coach Steve Wojciechowski had to pry two student managers away from women's basketball in order to have enough guys to just play five-on-five during practice.
This year, it seems that Wojo is getting out in front of that issue. In addition to the 11 scholarship players on the roster, Marquette will have three walk-on players on the roster, including the newest addition to the squad, freshman Christian Haffner.
Haffner comes to Marquette from Gresham, Wisconsin, a scant 164 mile drive to the Al McGuire Center. Standing 6'1" and weighing 160 lb., he was the Central Wisconsin Conference-10 Player of the Year in 2014-15 at Gresham High School. He averaged 26.7 points, 5.1 assists and 4.9 rebounds as GHS went 21-4. There's actually half a chance he might actually play for Marquette at some point, as he buried 49% of his three-pointers, which was the best mark of all Division 5 players. Then again, he's only joining the team now and doesn't have a scholarship, so maybe not.
Haffner will wear #41 for Marquette. He'll be the first #41 for the Golden Eagles since Ousmane Barro wrapped up his career in 2007.

If you've got some patience in your back pocket, you can watch this video of the full game between Gresham and Gibraltar, where Haffner wears #3 in white and goes for a 47-7-6.
