Marquette Men's Basketball Game Against St. John's Postponed Until Sunday

Stupid Winter Storm Jonas.

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

The choo-choo train might have left right on time, but that's not the case for Marquette's game against St. John's on Saturday.  Due to Winter Storm Jonas dropping an expected two feet of snow on the city, MU's game against the Red Storm has been postponed until Sunday at 2:45pm Central, and it's been moved to Carnesecca Arena on the SJU campus.  It will not be broadcast live, but CBS Sports Network will carry the tape delayed version at 5pm Central.

The New York City Police Department began enforcing a travel ban at 1:30pm Eastern in the city, which essentially means that no one was going to be able to get to Madison Square Garden for the game on Saturday night.  Bruce Springsteen is scheduled to play a concert at MSG on Sunday night, which effectively ended the Garden's usefulness for the game on Sunday.

As of right now, the St. John's women's team is scheduled to play Xavier starting at 1pm Central.  The Musketeers are already in town after playing Seton Hall on Friday night, and that game is going to be broadcast on the Big East Digital Network.  I really don't think it's possible to play a women's basketball game in less than an hour and 45 minutes, so something is going to have to move.  I would expect the women's game to get moved earlier by an hour to accomodate the men's game, but I don't know how things work with the Big East Digital Network schedules.  If nothing else, it should be fascinating to watch two television crews fight for space at the 5,600 seat arena.
