After opening up the season with wins over Bellarmine and Richmond, the Cascade/Maverik media voters have put YOUR Marquette Golden Eagles back into the top 20.  With 94 points, Marquette comes in at #17.  Albany (1-1) was #16 with 127 points, while Penn State (3-1) garnered 76 points to end up at 18th.

The top three spots did not change this week, keeping two future Marquette opponents in the top two spots.  Notre Dame picked up two wins last week to move to 3-0 and stay at #1, while Denver's two wins got them to 4-0, but only 10 first place votes and 580 points, 10 short of Notre Dame.

Duke moved up to #4 in the poll, and Villanova jumped back into the top 20 at #15 after beating Penn State last week.  That's it for Marquette opponents in the top 20, although Ohio State and Georgetown are both receiving votes.

Marquette returns to action against Ohio State on Friday evening as part of the Midwest Lacrosse Classic.  That game will be in Columbus, as will Sunday's game against Detroit.
