Nicely done, gentlemen.

After a 1-1 week where the Golden Eagles pushed #1 Notre Dame to overtime and got pushed by a second half rally from Providence, the Cascade/Maverik media voters ended up more impressed with Marquette than they were a week ago.  Last week, Marquette was #17 in the country and this week, they're up to #15.

CUE THE MUSIC!

The Irish stayed steady at #1, while Denver took advantage of a Yale loss to Brown to slide up to the #2 spot in the poll.  Marquette will wrap up the regular season on the road against the Pioneers, and the Big East regular season title will be on the line in that game, regardless of what happens to DU this coming weekend against Providence.

Marquette's next opponent is one line below them in the poll, as Duke stayed steady at #16 thanks to their 14-8 thrashing of Virginia on Sunday.  Villanova wraps up the Marquette opponents department of the ranked teams, moving up one line to #18 after handing Georgetown a #BEATEMDOWN of 12 straight unanswered second half goals.  Richmond is hanging out down in the "Receiving Votes" department, which is a nice little boost for Marquette's outlook.

Faceoff against the Blue Devils in Durham is scheduled for 6pm Central time on Friday evening.  Given the positioning of both squads, that game could essentially be an NCAA tournament play-in game.  You can catch the action on ESPN3/WatchESPN.
