Marquette Women's Lacrosse's Best Season Ever Destroyed The Record Book

With an overall record of 7-10 and a 4-3 record in the Big East, Marquette women's lacrosse had an outstanding 2016 season.  They had never won more than one game in conference play in either of the past two seasons, and the seven overall wins tops the five win total that they had posted in both 2014 and 2015.

The natural by-product of those newfound win totals is all sorts of new career bests and program bests all across the board.  Just as a fun reminder of all that this team accomplished this season, we're going to take a run through everything that they did this year.  We'll start with the freshly re-written career totals, then move down into single season marks that were set this year.  We'll wrap up by showing you what the Golden Eagles accomplished as a team, too.

All of the lines that changed this season are in bold.  There is one slight note to make here: Claire Costanza is listed as playing from 2013 through 2015.  Yes, Costanza was a senior on this year's squad, but she sat out the season with an injury, thus the 2015 cap on her lines.  And there are a lot of them.

Oh, and one more note: You'll notice that there aren't any goalie records here. Rest assured, Sarah Priem had a great year.  But as a 4 year starter, it's just moving pieces around amongst four lines of statistics all posted by Priem, or in the case of career marks, just one line of her accomplishments.  This paragraph stands as a salute to Priem and her play over the last four years.  It's going to be weird to see someone other than #31 occupying the net next year.
