Following Saturday's loss to #1 Denver, YOUR Marquette Golden Eagles have dropped in the newest Cascade/Maverik media poll, going from #18 last week to #19 this week.

MU fell 14-11 to the top ranked Pioneers in a game between two teams with 4-0 records in the Big East up to that point.  The Pios, who maintained their top spot in the newest top 20 poll, earned the #1 seed in the conference tournament and a semifinal date with Providence on Thursday night, while Marquette took the #2 seed and will face #3 seed Villanova in the front end of Thursday's doubleheader.  Speaking of the Wildcats, they're up one spot to #16 in the newest poll after beating the Friars 14-7 over the weekend.

In other Marquette opponent news, Notre Dame has fallen down to #7 in the country after their ACC semifinal loss to Duke, while the Blue Devils are up to #10 after falling to Syracuse in a rain delayed ACC championship game.  That's it for MU opponents that are actually ranked, but Ohio State, Marquette's worst loss of the season, Richmond, and Quinnipiac are all receiving votes.

Marquette's game against Villanova is scheduled for 5:30pm Central time on Thursday evening, with the broadcast of both semifinal games coming to you on CBS Sports Network.
