Marquette Basketball At The NBA Vegas Summer League: 7/11/16

A decent day for one Golden Eagle, but not so much from the other one in action.

Raptors 80, Mavericks 69 - Dallas bounced back from losing the second quarter 16-6 by throttling the Raptors 28-18 in the third period. Toronto still had a five point lead from the first quarter, though, and pushed through the final frame for the 11 point win. Norman Powell had a game high 23 points to lead the winning squad, while Jameel Warney’s 14 was tops for the defeated.

Vander Blue came off the bench for nearly 19 minutes of action, and while he shot the ball a lot (10 attempts), he had a quiet scoring day (only six points). Blue also chipped in a rebound and two assists.

Lakers 78, Warriors 65 - Los Angeles used a 26-16 advantage in the second quarter to assume control of the game and roll out for the 13 point victory. The cause for the outburst was D`Angelo Russell abusing Keifer Sykes, scoring 22 points in the first half for the Lakers.

Russell finished with a game high 26 points, and found time for five rebounds and an assist, too. Sykes was the high scorer for Golden State, tallying 16 points on 6-12 shooting.

Jamil Wilson isn’t listed as a DNP in the box score, but he also has a 00:00 in his minutes played column. There’s a bunch of zeroes following after that, too.
