Mavericks 84, Hornets 81 - Dallas used a game high 25 points from Darius Adams off the bench to pick up their first win in Summer League action on Wednesday. The big moment for Adams came in the fourth quarter when he popped off a personal 9-0 run with three straight three pointers against New Orleans to turn a 61-55 deficit into a 64-61 lead for the Mavs. Even after that, it was a still a tight game with 7 minutes to play and the Hornets tied it at 78 with 40.5 seconds left.
Vander Blue, the reason for the recap, provided Dallas with the lead for good with a pullup J with under 20 seconds to play and then reeled in a defensive rebound with under nine seconds left to give the Mavs a chance to ice the game at the free throw line. Blue finished with 16 points on 6-13 shooting in nearly 28 minutes, and he also added seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
