2017 Power Forward Hasahn French Schedules Visit To Marquette Basketball

September’s going to be a very busy month at 770 N. 12th Street....

On Tuesday, we learned that Hasahn French, a 6’7", 225 lb. power forward in the class of 2017, will visit Marquette in September.

French is currently rated as a three star prospect by the 247 Sports Composite system, and he’s ranked #179 in the class. He picked up an offer from Marquette back in April, and in late July, he announced a final list of 13 schools that he was considering.

That brings the total list of 2017 prospects that are visiting Marquette in September to four. Theo John (247 Composite #128) will be the first one in over Labor Day weekend. French will be next, followed by Jamal Cain (#200) on September 16, and then Xavier Tillman (#92) will wrap things up on September 26th.

I make a big deal out of pointing out that there are four prospects visiting Milwaukee because Marquette only has three scholarships available for fall 2017 right now. Ike Eke (247 Composite #245) is already verbally committed to play for Steve Wojciechowski, and he’ll take up the scholarship that’s currently sitting unused. Katin Reinhardt, Luke Fischer, and Jajuan Johnson will all finish up their eligibility in the spring of 2017, and those are the three spots available.

Someone here is a back up plan, and I don’t know who it is. I’m sure you’re shouting "WELL, IT’S OBVIOUSLY CAIN, DUMMY" at your screen right now, but Rivals has him as a top 75 prospect and Hoop Seen just put out a list yesterday that has Cain up at #65. With that said, Cain is clearly the smallest player out of the four and Marquette is very clearly in need of size for the 2017-18 roster.

We’re only two-and-a-half weeks away from John’s visit right now. Things could start moving very fast for Marquette, or maybe we’ll have to wait til October before news really starts falling into place.
