Ok, college basketball AND professional wrestling.

Can Brock Lesnar win the Royal Rumble and earn a WWE title shot?

Thanks to the lack of NFL football today, we’ve got a pretty nice slate of nationally televised college basketball games today. We’ve also got WWE’s Royal Rumble, the official kickoff of the road to WrestleMania. I hope you bought your snacks early this weekend, because there’s really no reason to leave your couch today.

The highlight of the day is a game that I can’t actually recommend that you watch, with Virginia heading to the Wells Fargo Center to tangle with Villanova. These are two of the 20 slowest teams in the country and there is a very real chance that neither team manages to break 60 points. The potential good news, in terms of entertainment value, is that Villanova is coming off their loss to Marquette, and as Marquette fans, we’re well aware of what the Wildcats can do when they’re coming off of a loss.

There’s a Big East league game later on in the day that holds a bit of interest for MU fans. Xavier is in New York to face St. John’s, and MU will play both of those teams twice in the final nine regular season games, including a trip to the Big Apple later this week.
