Your Marquette Basketball Opening Night Game Day Playlist

Don’t say that AE never did anything to help you.

Wake up nerds. It’s game day.

You didn’t stuff your schedule with Monday/Wednesday hour and fifteen minute classes so you could spend your Fridays studying. Give yourself a good nap though, because I know you spend your Thursday doing some combination of mug night at Caff’s, Miss Katie’s karaoke, and Old German Beer Hall $5.50 Liters. By the time you come back to this article to load queue up the music, hopefully you’ve gone to Discount Liquor at 53rd and Oklahoma (easily the best liquor store I’ve ever been to. An absolute goldmine) and picked up a Big O from Oscar’s (That place is light years better than Sobelman’s don’t @ me) [Editor’s note: Ben is adhering the official position of this website. Your complaints can be directed to the nearest brick wall.] and your eye is on the prize.

It’s the first game of the season and a top 5 day at Marquette (National Marquette Day, Madison game, the week before freshman move in, and senior week are the other 4 if you were wondering). You’re already amped, but the wrong pump up music can kill the vibe in a heartbeat. Jessica from PHIL 2010 didn’t waste a glittery MU face tattoo and wear her striped overalls to see your obsession with John Mayer come to life. I’m going to do my best to make sure that doesn’t happen. This can be played at 18th and Kil at 6:45 or at 5:00 while you’re getting ready and need that extra hype. I’ll toss in what I can from old school to 2000s to now. I’ll put some songs to dance to and I’ll put some songs for you to build up the courage to stand on that table and let it all out. Wherever you are in life, just hit the shuffle button and make sure to get your mind right for this season, because it’s going to be a wild ride.

Sidenote: You probably don’t need the lower bowl today. Spend those extra 30 minutes at the party and get out the door at 7:30.
