After Pittsburgh‘s 24-17 upset victory over #2 Miami on Friday afternoon, we’re already guaranteed to see a shake up in the four teams projected to stand in the college football playoff picture on Tuesday.
The question now is: Exactly how big of a shake up?
Today, #1 Alabama visits #6 Auburn. It’s not crazy to think that the Tigers can pull off the win here. #3 Clemson visits #24 South Carolina tonight. The Tigers already lost at Syracuse this season, and the Gamecocks are a much better team than the Orange. Again, not crazy to think the upset is possible. #5 Wisconsin heads a wee bit northwest to play Minnesota. I know that the Gophers haven’t won a game in this series since 2003, but hey: Wisconsin is the team with the pressure on their backs to finish undefeated for the first time since World War I. Weirder things have happened, y’know?
After a few wild and wooly days of college basketball on the TV, it’s nice to get back to the mostly regulated insanity of college football. Hopefully it’s up to the challenge.
