Your College Basketball Saturday Viewing Guide: December 16, 2017

It’s a super weird set of games on tap for today.

There are 10 ranked teams in action on national television on this fine Saturday of college basketball. EIGHT of them are either on the road or playing on a neutral floor.

That’s pretty weird!

Some of the matchups aren’t weird. The annual Crossroads Classic in Indianapolis is today, so there’s how you get Purdue and Notre Dame at a neutral site. Michigan has stolen the idea of that event and is running a doubleheader in Detroit, so that’s how you get Michigan State on a neutral floor against Oakland.

Some of the road games are pretty odd, but they’re all the back ends of home-and-homes. We’ve got Miami at George Washington, Kansas at Nebraska, and Arizona visiting New Mexico in The Pit. These all seem like weird home-and-homes to set up for these high profile programs. I guess the Nebraska one isn’t that weird, but Kansas set themselves up with a schedule with four other Major Eight non-conference games on top of this trip to Lincoln, thus the oddity of tacking on the difficulty level.

Elsewhere on the schedule, we’ve got Seton Hall putting themselves at risk to a RAC Attack against Rutgers, Syracuse visiting the undefeated juggernaut known as Georgetown, and Cincinnati heading out to Los Angeles to tangle with UCLA. Virginia Tech visit Kentucky for an entertaining contest, and Wichita State welcome Oklahoma into the Koch Center as well.

That’s a pretty solid day of hoops, y’all, and that’s without Marquette in action!

Here’s the full slate of what’s on TV. There’s an awful lot more on streaming only, so if you catch something fun, shout it out in the comments!
