Pretty fun night of hoops yesterday, huh?
North Carolina and South Carolina issued statements in their Sweet Sixteen games, although Butler rolled back into the UNC game late to make it a little interesting, and Kentucky won a superb game against UCLA behind a 39 point night from De`Aaron Fox. The wildest part about that? He was 0-for-1 from behind the arc. 13-of-19 on twos, and 13-of-15 on free throws.
Oh, was there another game? The first overtime game of the tournament, you say?

Anyway, onwards to tonight, where Xavier will be looking to earn the Big East a 14th share of the NCAA tournament money pool. The conference has already surpassed last year’s total of 12 shares, which at the time was a record high since The Reformation. At more than $265,000 per share for each of the next six years, that’s roughly $3.5 million getting paid out to the Big East each year, and a win by the Musketeers would boost that up to north of $3.7 million.
It would also be the first Final Four in program history, which is nice for them, I guess. No pressure, Xavier!
There’s also the Kansas/Oregon game as the back end of the doubleheader, and I’m sure that will be fun, too.
Both games will be televised on TBS, and both will be streamed on March Madness Live.
All times Central
5:09pm: #1 Gonzaga Bulldogs vs #11 Xavier Musketeers
7:49pm: #1 Kansas Jayhawks vs #3 Oregon Ducks
