Last summer, a group of Marquette Golden Eagles alumni advanced to the quarterfinals of The Basketball Tournament, a 64 team winner-take-all competition with $2 million on the line. With that quarterfinal loss, Golden Eagles Alumni fell one win short of an automatic bid to the 2017 edition of TBT. That means if GEA is going to take another run at the prize money, they need votes to get them there.
Here’s what you need to do to get them there:
- Click right here to go to the official TBT page for Golden Eagles Alumni.
- Click the gigantic orange box on the right hand side to vote. You’ll either need to create an account on the TBT website or log in with your account from last year.
- Start recruiting other fans to vote for GEA.
It’s that last one that’s actually pretty important, at least to your bank account. See, when someone uses a link that you provide via Twitter, Facebook, or email (and TBT will provide you with that link) to vote for GEA, the team gets a point and more importantly, YOU get a point. Why does this matter? The top 100 fans of the winning team will split 10% of the $2 million prize. If you want a cheap and easy way to make somewhere between $1,000 and $20,000, well then this is the activity for you.
If you want to get a jump on things, you can buy tickets to the Midwest Region opening rounds, which is the region that Golden Eagles Alumni has entered. Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, is going to be the host, so take that into account when you plunk down your cash to go see GEA.
