Los Angeles Lakers 115, Brooklyn Nets 106 - Vander Blue scored a game high 27 points to drive the Lakers to a quarterfinal victory in the Las Vegas Summer League tournament and put Los Angeles two wins away from the title.
It wasn’t all sunshine and lollipops for the former Marquette guard. Blue had just eight points at halftime as Brooklyn held a 63-55 lead after Spencer Dinwiddie hit a buzzer beater three-pointer for the Nets. Obviously, the reigning G-League MVP had a big second half, racking up 19 points and two each in rebounds, steals and assists after the break to help rally the troops for the win.
Blue wasn’t alone out there, as Kyle Kuzma nearly matched him with 26 points and noted shoe sensation Lonzo Ball chipped in a 14/9/7 line to keep things humming along all over the court. Brooklyn got double digit scoring efforts from four different guys in the loss, led by 23 points from Caris LeVert.
Los Angeles is in Sunday night’s semifinals of the LVSL tournament, where they’ll take on the Dallas Mavericks. Dallas arrived in the semis after defeating Boston 91-74 in the quarterfinals.
