Boston Celtics 86, Los Angeles Lakers 81 - I’m going to get whiplash from the Lonzo Ball discussion after Saturday night, guys.
The former UCLA guard collected a triple-double (11 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists), but shot just 5-of-13 and committed four turnovers as the Lakers fell to the Celtics to drop to 0-2 in Summer League play.
The Lakers seemed to mostly be in control of the game until late in the third quarter. Kyle Kuzma picked up a dunk with 3:13 remaining in the frame to put Los Angeles up three at 57-54, but they would not score again until the 8:55 mark of the fourth quarter when a Josh Hart floater cut the Boston lead to just four points. Ball would eventually knot the game at 72 with 2:56 to play, but an 8-0 run by the Celtics capped off by a bucket by Jayson Tatum pretty much ended things.
After getting the starting nod on Friday night, Vander Blue came off the bench here. The Madison native played just three minutes and scored just two points off of a pair of freebies. He chipped in a rebound and an assist in his brief action as well.
