All 16 winners from yesterday reconvene at their various locations today to decide who advances to the round of 16 in Brooklyn on July 20th. Ram Nation, the team of VCU alumni seeded #2 in the South Region, is probably the most fortunate team to make it to Sunday, as they needed this game-winner from Jamie Skeen to defeat #15 seed Showtime.

I’d like to point you towards the official TBT YouTube page for highlight packages from all of Saturday’s games, although I think we all have to watch the GaelNation highlights as they rallied from down eight with less than two minutes left to hand a loss to City of Gods, the two time defending Northeast regional champs.

In the early goings of Saturday, things were looking pretty chalky. Sideline Cancer in the Northeast region gave us the day’s first upset as they dropped Zoo Crew, the team of Pitt alumni. Say hi to Sad Pitt Bear, everyone. Things got wild in the South Region, with two double-digit seeds advancing to play each other. Both of those wins are honestly kind of a bummer, as Golden Boot Dynasty defeated Brothers Dat Ball, who found out they were replacing the Vanderbilt alumni team on short notice, and NC Prodigal Sons knocked out Ole Hotty Toddy. That means there’s no more Marshall Henderson in this tournament and the world is lesser as a result.

The big highlight of today will be watching Paul Champions take on the #1 seed in the Northeast. Paul Champions, which features Earl Boykins in the back court, got into the tournament by way of winning the Jamboree, and now they’re in the second round. Can they make it into the third round?
