Your College Football Saturday Viewing Guide: August 26, 2017

We’re cheering for anarchy here, but this opening weekend can be enjoyed without any top five concerns.

NCAA Football: Central Florida at South Florida Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

If this were a fully loaded Saturday of college football, this would be the part of our show where I talk about how much I want each of the top five teams to lose. However, since it’s just the first official weekend that teams can play, not all of them are in action, and specifically, none of the top five teams are playing.

Such is life.

What we do have is two afternoon contests, one evening contest, and one night contest. The last two games of the day feature ranked teams, and neither of them are playing at home. Stanford has the best positioning of the two ranked foes, as they’re out in Australia to play Rice, so at least the Owls aren’t at home, either.

The other game with a ranked team is the one that I’ve got my eye on the most. South Florida starts off the 2017 season ranked #19 in the country, and I’d like nothing more this season than to see USF work themselves into a situation where the rules of College Football Anarchy cause me to cheer against them. They have to get a road win against San Jose State for that to happen, though.

Here’s your national TV slate for the day.
