Your College Football Saturday Viewing Guide: October 6, 2018

Let’s see what the silliest sport in the country has cooked up for us this week.

Three games between ranked opponents are the highlights on today’s college football schedule. First, there’s the Red River Shootout, as #19 Texas tangles with #7 Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl. That’s pretty decent. In the afternoon window, we get #5 LSU heading over to Gainesville to face #22 Florida. The third and final one comes in the night slot, as #6 Notre Dame plays one of their “we’re only kind of in the ACC not really but okay partway in” games and heads to Blacksburg. Hey, wait a minute. How in the name of all that is holy is Virginia Tech ranked #24 in the country after losing to Old Dominion? No, “they beat #22 Duke” is not an acceptable answer. This is stupid, and that’s saying something for college football.

The low-key most important game of the day is #13 Kentucky going on the road against Texas A&M. Kentucky’s 5-0, y’all, and 3-0 in SEC play. They’re actually not favored to win here (TAMU by 6), but they’re honestly not that far from a showdown with Georgia to decide who wins the SEC East on November 3rd. They have to get through the Aggies first, thus the importance.

The lowlight of the day is Illinois at Rutgers. Do not watch this game.

Here’s your official College Football Anarchy cheering guide for the day:

Arkansas vs #1 Alabama
Vanderbilt at #2 Georgia
Indiana at #3 Ohio State
Wake Forest vs #4 Clemson
#22 Florida vs #5 LSU

Here’s the national television schedule for the day! Enjoy your day on the couch!
