A little bit of a quiet day of college hoops on TV with only 28 games catching a national broadcast this week. There’s only 11 ranked teams in action, which is a pretty low number as well.
The highlight of the day is clearly #8 Kansas going on the road in Lubbock to square off with #6 Texas Tech. Kansas has a one game lead on TTU in the Big 12 standings with just three games to go, so this game could end up playing a part in whether or not the Jayhawks lock up that 9 millionth straight B12 title.
That’s the only game with two ranked teams, but there’s — count ‘em — eight ranked teams going on the road on national television against an unranked foe. That’s a high quality recipe for things going insane crazy, or possibly just crazy insane. Of particular note to Marquette fans is #13 Wichita State traveling to SMU and #3 Villanova in Omaha to play Creighton. There’s also LSU visiting Georgia in a game that, at least according to Bart-Torvik.com, Marquette wants the Bulldogs to win.
