2018 Championship “Week” Update: February 27

We move from the Atlantic Sun to the Big South and the Patriot League.

One of the joys of the early parts of Championship “Week” is trying to identify which player to put into the picture. Here’s Lafayette’s Matt Klinewski.

We move on to day two of Championship “Week,” and due to the nature of conferences playing games at campus sites, we have to leave the Atlantic Sun behind for now. We got just one upset in their first round, with #5 North Florida going into #4 NJIT’s building and coming away with the win. We’ll swing back around to those guys on Thursday.

We stay on the east coast for today though, as the Big South and Patriot League get started. Their 10 team membership means that, much like the Big East tournament, we get a pair of first round elimination games to find out who gets to visit the first and second place teams for the quarterfinals. These games are also on campus sites, so both of these tournaments will go on hiatus for a couple of days after today. Unfortunately for us college hoops nerds, all four games will tip off at the same time.
