Your College Basketball Saturday Viewing Guide: December 21, 2019

It’s a weird set of games going on today, with some big time matchups and also some random buy games.

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Second Round-Houston vs Ohio State
The Kansas mascot is in the What To Watch this week, so we’re going with the mascot of the second best team in action today instead of the best team’s mascot.

It’s very clear that television production and content were at the forefront of people’s minds today. There’s the Crossroads Classic in Indianapolis, there’s the Al Attles Classic in San Francisco, we’ve got Illinois and Missouri squaring off on a neutral floor, there’s the CBS Sports Classic out in Las Vegas, the Orange Bowl Classic in Sunrise, FL, a Basketball Hall of Fame Classic in Los Angeles, and something called Chicago Legends at the United Center.

It’s a whole bunch of really great games to keep you occupied throughout the day, and that’s without even mentioning #1 Kansas heading to Philly to face #18 Villanova.

And then there’s North Carolina A&T visiting Wake Forest. They can’t all be tantalizing winners, y’know.

The headliner game of the day is assuredly #5 Ohio State and #6 Kentucky squaring off in Las Vegas on CBS. Of course, this would have been a lot more fun if Kentucky hadn’t just lost to Utah on Wednesday night in the exact same arena that this game is going to be played in today. Related: I wonder what Kentucky did in Las Vegas in between then and now, because obviously there was no point in going back to Lexington, presuming that classes are done with at this point.

There’s a lot of staggered start times all day long. That’s a nice extra touch for the neutral viewer, as that way the endings of games are spread out just in case things get a little wild over and over again. You can bounce around as needed and games are at different stages.

Here’s the full national television rundown for the day, with all times Central, as always.
