Congrats to Ja Morant and Murray State on snagging the Ohio Valley title and picking up the NCAA tournament’s first automatic bid of the year! We’re gonna get at least one Ja Morant tournament game, and the Racers should end up right around the #12 seed area, and they can absolutely knock off a #5 seed type team.
Moving on to today’s action, we get three more championship games. In chronological order:
Noon CT: Big South, on ESPN
1pm CT: Missouri Valley, on CBS
2pm CT: Atlantic Sun, on ESPN
That’s four straight hours of championship win or go home basketball, and there ain’t nothing wrong with that. The highlight for you, the Marquette fan as projected audience for this, has to be former Golden Eagle Brian Wardle attempting to win the MVC title as the #5 seed after knocking off the #4 seed in the quarterfinals and regular season champ Loyola-Chicago in the semis. Because Arch Madness is crazy like that, Bradley is actually favored by seed line in this one, as they’re playing the #6 seed.
We’re also going to get semifinal action in three different leagues, so that’s pretty high stakes, too. Things are just gonna keep being high stakes as the next eight days rolls on, so brace yourself and stock up on snacks.
