The Super Bowl is tomorrow. As such, there are only 13 college basketball games scheduled to be played, and every single one of them will be done by 6pm Eastern.
Thus, there are 151 men’s college basketball games scheduled for today, and a whopping 40 of them are on national television.
FORTY!
That’s a lot. There’s so many games on national television today that the schedule starts at 10am Central, with Fox getting out in front of everything early by getting Xavier at #10 Seton Hall going long before lunch time.
18 of them feature at least one ranked team. That’s a heavy majority of the top 25, so it shouldn’t be a surprise to you to hear that there is only one game between two ranked foes on national TV today. That’s #13 Kentucky hitting the road to take on #17 Auburn. The Wildcats are one of nine ranked teams playing on the road today, and obviously eight of those games are against unranked teams. That sounds like a recipe for things to get very weird around the college basketball landscape today, but we’ll have to wait and see how things ultimately shake out.
Texas Tech at #3 Kansas feels like a little bit of an under the radar matchup, and I think you should pace yourself to stay up til nearly midnight to watch #20 Colorado making the trip to Los Angeles to face USC. That’s the same Southern Cal team that had Markus Howard drop 51 on them earlier this season, but right now, they’re only a half-game back of the top spot in the Pac-12.
Here’s the full national television schedule for the day, with all times Central as always.
