Your Championship “Week” Update: Thursday, March 5, 2020

Well, the big news of yesterday was #11 Wyoming knocking off #6 Colorado State in the first round of the Mountain West tournament. Hey, look, they can’t all be massive upsets. Still, that’s the last place team in the MW throwing a wrench into things, and that’s never a bad thing. Heck, the Mountain West also gave us a #9 over a #8, so I’m not about to look down my nose at things veering towards the weird in Las Vegas.

Everything went chalk in the NEC yesterday, as all four home teams won. However, there were some nailbiters as top seeded Robert Morris and #4 LIU both just barely escaped with one point wins.

Today we bring back those tourneys that started on Tuesday for more fun. In addition to those, we also get the start of action in the Missouri Valley and West Coast tournaments. It’s first round/back end action from both of those leagues, but hey: this is the last shot at the NCAA tournament for those guys, so don’t sell their efforts short.
