Dallas Mavericks 127, Los Angeles Clippers 114 — A foul-limited Luka Doncic didn’t help Doc Rivers and the Clippers on Monday night in Game #2 of their series against the Mavericks. LA shot under 30% from long range and never led while trailing by as many as 18 in the fourth quarter.

Fouls actually had Doncic out of the game in the fourth quarter when Dallas made their move. He snagged his fifth foul of the game just 23 seconds into the frame with the Mavs up 98-85. After the Clippers trimmed the lead to 10 right after that, the Mavericks slapped together an 8-0 to take an 18 point lead with two free throws from Delon Wright providing the capper. The closest LA would come again the rest of the way was just 10 points.

A double-double from Kawhi Leonard didn’t have the impact you’d want it to, as the Clippers top star finished with 35 points and 10 rebounds along with two assists and a steal. Paul George had a double-double for Doc’s team as well on 14 points and 10 rebounds. However, George was just 2-for-10 from behind the arc and thus was responsible for a full third of LA’s long range misfires in the game.

Up Next: Doc and the Clippers look to retake an advantage in this series in Game #3 on Friday night. Tipoff is set for 8pm Central and TNT will have the broadcast for you.
