Well, at least it was decided early?

On Monday night, top seeded Connecticut started out the 2021 Big East women’s basketball tournament championship game by scoring the first nine points of the game against #2 seed Marquette.

That’s the end of the recap, because your final from Mohegan Sun: UConn 73, Marquette 39.

There’s literally nothing else to be said about this game. Nika Muhl hit a three to put the Huskies up at least 10 for good with 3:19 left in the first quarter. The margin hit 20 for the first time when Evina Westbrook drained a three to make it 27-6.... with 1:30 left in the first. Paige Bueckers put the difference north of 20 for good on a bucket with 5:47 left in the third quarter, and a triple by Muhl with 5:20 to go clicked things over to a 30 point game for the first time.

The only other thing to be brought up here is that maaaaaaaybe Marquette pissed UConn off last Monday when MU played them even for the final 30 minutes before the Huskies won by 10.

Up Next: Marquette will wait til next week Monday to confirm that they’ll be in the NCAA tournament. There’s no reason to think that they won’t be in, but as they have to wait for an at-large bid after losing in the Big Eas title game, it’s not a guarantee.
