Mirkes was Marquette’s lone competitor in Fayetteville, looking to advance to the national finals in Eugene. There were 48 participants in the women’s high jump, with Mirkes coming in seeded in a tie for 32nd best jump in the West Region this outdoor season. Mirkes tied her best jump of the season on the third height, 1.76 meters, but missed all three jumps at 1.81 meters. That would have been a new school record, both indoor and outdoor, but it was still good enough to tie her best finish in two previous trips to the West Prelims.
