Carsen Murray named Defensive Player of the Week

Here's what the Big East said about Marquette's star middle blocker:

Murray anchored a Marquette squad that refused to relinquish a set, sweeping St. John’s and Seton Hall to clinch a share of the BIG EAST regular season title. The middle blocker averaged 1.33 blocks per set while hitting a league-best .611. Against the third-seeded Red Storm, Murray logged three blocks and four kills on .667 hitting. The following day she produced a match-bets five blocks with even kills and a dig. Through the weekend, Murray did not have a single hitting error.

In addition, Aubrey Hamilton was on the Weekly Honor Roll. Here's the writeup:

Hamilton led Marquette with a team-best 4.67 points per set as the Golden Eagles secured their third consecutive regular season title. This week, the senior ranked 2nd in the BIG EAST in service aces (4, 0.67/set), 3rd in points (4.67/set), and 9th in kills (21, 3.50/set). In Saturday’s sweep of Seton Hall, Hamilton led both teams with 11 kills.
