Foust & Henry Earn Weekly Big East Awards

+

Lydia Foust was named Big East Midfielder of the Week. Here's the writeup:

The senior midfielder scored 10 goals and added two assists for 12 points last week as Marquette went 2-0. Foust scored seven goals and had one assist in a 22-16 win at Butler along with three goals and one assist in 12-8 win on the road against Villanova. She ranks 11th in the nation in total goals (54) and 16th in goals per game (3.38). Marquette is now ranked No. 24 in the newest IWLCA Division I Poll, which is the first time the Golden Eagles have been ranked in program history.

Ellie Henry was named Defensive Player of the Week. This is her writeup from the league:

Henry had 19 draw controls, three ground balls and one caused turnover in the Golden Eagles two wins last week. The senior defender’s 15 draw controls at Butler were the second-most in a game in program history. Henry proceeded to add four more draw controls along with three ground balls and one caused turnover in the victory at Villanova. She ranks 23rd in the nation in draw controls per game (6.12).

On top of those two awards, Mary Schumar made the Honor Roll after a 17 point week where she set the Big East record for assists in a game. It's kind of insane that she's not the Offensive Player of the Week as a result of setting a league record, to be honest.
